You can become certified to teach basic archery programs in as little as 8 hours!   NADA is the official facilitator of Basic Certification for USA Archery and National Field Archery Association.  NADA has facilitated the training of over 26,000 new instructors during the past 5 years.

You'll learn how to set up and operate a safe short-term archery program, how to teach new archers, how to maintain your equipment, and how to create fun games for your new archers.  And you’ll learn how to teach an introduction to the Drills & Skills training program, which teach new archers the basic skills they’ll need to be successful quickly.  Certification is valid for 3 years; courses are open to any person in the year of their 16th birthday.

Here's what you'll learn:

  • The World of Archery

  • The Safety Orientation Class

  • Archery Safety

  • Steps of Shooting

  • Teaching Techniques

  • Class Plans and Activities

  • Equipment

 For Program Directors:
Call NADA to schedule an instructor training course for your staff.  If need be, NADA will coordinate with a certified course instructor in your area who will quote you a service fee and teach the class with a minimum of 6 participants.  NADA can provide loaner archery equipment to be used during the instructor training course for the cost of shipping.  You provide a safe shooting area, a nearby covered area with tables and chairs, and any on-site logistics support for the course instructor.

Once a course is scheduled, NADA can assist in promoting it to the public by posting it on this website on the Training Room’s Calendar of Events.

We ask for 4-6 week lead time for courses requiring a course instructor.  If the course is to be taught by your qualified staff member, allow regular shipping time for materials to arrive.
